Witnesses said José Antonio Valois Laguna lost his balance and fell to the ground. Within seconds, the tires of the vehicle, which was moving backwards at the time, crushed him.

América Noticias indicated that the truck driver stopped the vehicle immediately upon realizing the accident ; however, there was nothing he could do because his coworker suffered several injuries to his body that prevented him from breathing.
