The couple was attacked while they were in a bar in the La Playa sector of Ciudad Bolívar. The man died, while the woman was injured.

On the night of Wednesday, July 17, a violent attack was reported inside a bar located on Calle 60d Sur with Carrera 18a, in the sector known as La Playa, in Ciudad Bolívar. Jhon Alexander Castro Hernández, 26, was partying with his partner, who apparently worked at the establishment.

“They say that the guy was near his house, in a bar that is a few blocks from where he lived. The rumor is that the girl he was with when they were attacked worked in that bar and that she had only been working there for a few months. The truth is that it is very sad because the guy was a good person,” a resident of the area told said.

Witnesses say that at least three men arrived in a car at the bar where the two young men were. Apparently, both were alone inside the establishment when they were attacked. When they saw them distracted, one of the individuals got out of the taxi, took out a knife and, upon entering the bar, began to fight with the victims.

A video from a security camera at the establishment recorded the moment in which the subject approached the couple who were behind the bar and began to attack them mercilessly with a knife.

First, he approaches Jhon, who tries to defend himself. At the same time, the young woman screams “No, calm down, don’t do anything to him” , but her screams are not enough to stop the attacker, who then goes to where she is and also stabs her several times.

“There is the money, take it, look at it,” the woman tells her attacker, who continues to hurt her. The young woman is left lying on the floor and the attacker leaves the establishment.

In the video, you can see that after this episode, the young woman's relatives arrive at the bar and tell her to go to a medical center. Jhon was taken to Meissen Hospital, but a few minutes after being admitted to the emergency room, he died due to the severity of his injuries.

“The woman is now recovering. At this time, we are collecting evidence to find the whereabouts of the attacker, since no one has been arrested for this attack. Several hypotheses are being studied, including a crime of passion related to this attack,” added Lieutenant Colonel Pascual González.
