Helicopter crashes in rural Caruaru, leaving two dead and one injured - Brazil

The accident happened in the Lagoa de Pedra community; Fire Department and Samu Agreste are at the scene

A helicopter crashed in Caruaru late in the afternoon this Monday (9). The accident occurred in the Lagoa de Pedra community, in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Agreste Pernambucano.

Three people were inside the aircraft, and according to official information from the agencies present at the scene, two died, while the other was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).

According to Samu, the fatal victims were male, aged between 40 and 45, and were found charred at the scene.

The survivor, in turn, is approximately 40 years old and is Henrique da Cunha Santos, as found by Folha de Pernambuco with Geraldo Santos, a friend of the businessman.

According to Geraldo, Henrique had 90% of his body burned . He is hospitalized in the ICU at Santa Efigênia Hospital, in the Maurício de Nassau neighborhood.

According to Geraldo, the trio present at the accident were carrying out a test on the helicopter, which had just undergone maintenance.

Through a note, the "Caruaru Health Department expresses its solidarity with the families involved and reiterates its commitment to transparency and efficiency in emergency care."

In an email sent to the press, the Air Force reported that investigators from the Second Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA II), a regional body of the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA), located in Recife, were called to collect data on the incident involving the aircraft registered as PR-OPS, in Caruaru.

According to the Air Force, specific techniques are used in Data Collection, conducted by qualified and accredited personnel who collect and confirm data, preserve the elements, perform the initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft, or by the aircraft, and collect other information necessary for the investigation.

The aircraft crashed in a wooded area, far from homes or businesses. Videos show the vehicle in flames after hitting the ground.

A team from the Caruaru Police Station was called to the scene to carry out the first investigations.

To provide first aid, the Pernambuco Fire Department sent three vehicles, including rescue, rescue and fire-fighting.

Ambulances and motorcycle ambulances from Samu Agreste were also on site to assist with the care.
