A 23-year-old died on Monday after getting tangled into an energized wire in Canoas, in the Metropolitan Region. He was driving a motorcycle at the time of the facts. The cable would have come loose during the storm.
The case occurred around 5:30 a.m., on Guaporé Street, in the Mathias Velho neighborhood. The victim was working at a gas station and died when he was driving a motorcycle on his way to work.
Witnesses report that a street near the wiring was isolated with three cones. They point out, however, that the darkness hindered the cable to be viewed.
João Ives lives on site and called Samu after what happened. He states that the wire came loose at 1:30 a.m., and that the motorcyclist got his foot tiled when he passed there, around 5:30 a.m. The driver was charred and had both feet and fingertips cut off.
"As soon as the wire came loose, I tried to alert the company through the application, but I had no response. The motorcyclist's body was on fire for hours. It was an announced tragedy," said the resident.
The report tries to contact the RGE. There has been no response so far. The space remains open. The Civil Police, through the 1ª DP of Canoas, investigates the case.
