On Saturday afternoon (1°), a serious accident on Rua Major José Borba, in Santa Maria da Vitória, resulted in the death of Samara dos Santos Queiroz, 34 years old, victim of the imprudence of a driver. The woman was riding a Honda/CG 160 Fan motorcycle when she was hit by a Fiat Siena, driven by C.R.L.G., a city lawyer, who was at high speed.

The impact was so strong that the victim was thrown against a garbage collection truck, which was collecting at the time. Samara was standing, waiting for the truck to follow, when she was pressed against the vehicle.

After the collision, the driver of the car tried to get away from the place, heading to a commercial establishment, probably to avoid the revolt of the people. However, the rapid arrival of the Military Police resulted in the arrest of C.R.L.G., who showed signs of drunkenness and psychotic outbreak during the approach. Toxicological tests confirmed the alcohol consumption, and the driver admitted that he had ingested alcohol before driving. 02/02/2025

The driver was indicted for intentional homicide with eventual mall, since he assumed the risk of causing death by driving under the influence of alcohol and at high speed. C.R.L.G. was taken to the police station, and the case is still under investigation by the Civil Police.

(SAMU) were called, but despite efforts to save Samara, she could not resist the injuries and died at the scene.

The images of security cameras show the imprudence of the driver, who disrespected speed limits and put the lives of other people at risk. The local community deeply regrets the loss and reinforces the need for more inspection and respect in traffic to avoid tragedies like this one in Santa Maria da Vitória.
