A 35-year-old man died after he was hit by a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and then run over by a 16-wheeler truck in Antipolo.

After he was hit by a fast-moving MPV, the victim was thrown off to the other lane and then he was run over by the truck. The victim died on the spot.
According to the Antipolo Police investigation, the victim was crossing the road to buy pandesal before the incident.
A witness said few vehicles were plying the road at that time but these were fast-moving.
Meanwhile, the truck driver immediately surrendered to the authorities and was detained thereafter.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo, chief of Antipolo Component City Police Station, said the truck driver admitted to running over the victim.
"However, during the course of the investigation, we also showed the family that this is what really happened. We have CCTV which proves that the truck driver had no chance to avoid the incident," Manongdo said.

The victim’s family did not file charges against the truck driver while authorities are still searching for the MPV driver.
The victim’s family could not believe his passing. He is survived by his one-year-old baby, pregnant wife, and 11 siblings.
"I hope the person who hit my husband will come forward. Justice is needed for my husband. My husband's life will never be brought back," the victim's wife said.
