São Paulo - A man was arrested in flagrante after beating his wife with extreme violence inside a market on Monday (3/10), in Alameda Barão de Limeira, in Campos Elíseos, central region of São Paulo. A friend of the wife and an employee of the establishment tried to contain her husband, but were also assaulted.
Images from a security camera of the place show the moment when the man enters the establishment furiously and starts punching his wife, who appears in a beige dress in the video. The woman tries to protect herself through the corridors of the market, but ends up suffering several punches on the head until she falls to the ground.
She was accompanied by a friend, in a black top and a red skirt, who tried to stop the punches, but had her hair pulled by the man. An employee of the establishment also tried to talk to the aggressor, but was pushed by him.
Unable to convince the man, the owner of the market ran out of the establishment and activated a team of the Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM), which was patrolling Júlio de Mesquita Square, right in front of the place. The agents went to the market and caught the man assaulting the victim.
According to the GCM, as soon as the husband saw the agents, he tried to escape, but was restained by a guard who was waiting in the outdoor area of the place. The man was arrested and sent to the 1st Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), where he remains at the disposal of Justice.
