Teenager is thrown from a bicycle after being run over by a drunk driver - Brazil

A 13-year-old teenage cyclist was thrown from the bicycle he was riding during a serious accident on Arthur Bernardes Avenue in Belém. According to the victim's father, he got his leg broken and hit his head.

According to the Civil Police (PC), the driver who ran over the boy was drunk and was fined in flagrante for qualified bodily injury and drunkenness. The case occurred this Sunday (30).

According to witnesses, the drunk driver was in a gray car and hit an app car carrying two passengers. After the collision between the two vehicles, the gray car ran over the cyclist, who ended up several meters away from where the crash occurred.

Residents of the area who followed the action of the authorities on site reported that it was necessary to remove one of the doors from the application car for the two passengers to be rescued. They were injured and received medical care.

The two drivers went to the police station to testify. On the spot, the driver of the gray vehicle tested positive in the breathalyzer test. Reports pointed out that he already had a history of involvement in other accidents due to imprudence.

The teenager who had the most serious injuries was taken to the Metropolitan Hospital in Ananindeua, and had to be intubated, according to his father's information.
