A video has gone viral on social media showing a Ugandan businessman and philanthropist collapsing in a gym after a workout session.

In the chilling clip captured by the facility’s CCTV camera, the man, identified as Hajji Eng. Abas Kasagga — a Kampala businessman — is seen wearing a white and grey tracksuit, seated on one of the flat benches.

A few seconds later, he is seen wiping his face with a towel as two men approach him.

The three appear to engage in a brief conversation before Kasagga bows his head, clutches his left arm as if experiencing a seizure, and suddenly drops to the floor.

The two men, startled by the sudden incident, step back for a moment before one of them attempts to lift him up.

Two more individuals quickly join in, trying to help the unresponsive man, who appears stiff and immobile.

Another gym member was captured taking out his phone, likely to call for help or an ambulance, as more people gathered around to see what happened.

Nakasagga Sophie Kasumba, who shared the clip, reported that the man had arrived at the gym early that morning and performed a few gymnastic exercises before the tragic incident.

He was rushed to Kibuli Muslim Hospital but was, unfortunately, pronounced dead on arrival.

Local media outlet Chim Reports noted that Kasagga suffered a massive heart attack while lifting weights.

According to the report, gym members and instructors attempted to assist him, but their efforts were hindered by a lack of basic first aid knowledge and equipment.
