Bolivian man knocked out after crashing car while drunk, later found hanging in his home - Argentina

The victim was identified as Richard Flores Mercado, 36. He drove his car onto the sidewalk, crashing into a sign and the crates of a grocery store, but no one was injured. Neighbors and merchants began insulting him and telling him to "go back to his country," until one of them punched him fiercely. The Bolivian Embassy's complaint.

A Bolivian man was beaten to death by neighbors in the Buenos Aires town of Ezpeleta after driving drunk and driving his vehicle onto the sidewalk .

According to local media, the foreigner, identified as Richard Flores Mercado , 36 , was driving along Florencio Varela Avenue and 125th Street in the Quilmes district, intending to reach his home. However, the driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, crashed into a sign and the crates of a greengrocer's shop , but no passersby were injured .

Neighbors and shopkeepers began insulting him until one of them punched him fiercely, knocking him out. The moment was recorded on a witness's cell phone and went viral on social media. Flores Mercado is seen very drunk and leaning against his vehicle when he is beaten by the attacker, causing him to collapse.

The attack continued on the ground. The attackers demanded that he "go back to his country" and accused him of "disrespecting no one," while also discriminating against him for his nationality.

"Richard was killed with a punch, without anesthesia. It wasn't a bar fight, it wasn't a fight between equals. It was a cowardly attack ," friends of the victim wrote on Facebook.

The victim, originally from the Bolivian city of Cochabamba, was buried this Thursday. His mother traveled especially to pay her last respects.

The Embassy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia expressed its "deep consternation" over the man's murder and stated that it occurred under "xenophobic circumstances."

"Given the seriousness of the incident and in defense of human rights and non-discrimination, Bolivia requests that the relevant authorities conduct a thorough and transparent investigation to clarify this incident, punish those responsible, and adopt preventive measures," the letter states.

Finally, they emphasize that "they will follow up with the appropriate authorities to clarify this unfortunate incident."
