A tragic accident occurred on the morning of May 15 on National Highway 28 in Dak Nong province, when a container truck lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in two fatalities.

Dash cam footage shared widely on social media captured the sequence of the crash. Around 8:45 a.m., a container truck bearing license plate 48H-XXX.XX was traveling from Dak Ha commune toward Quang Son commune in Dak Glong district. As the vehicle approached the Bridge 25 area in Quang Son, it suddenly lost control and crossed into the opposite lane.

The truck collided head-on with a motorbike traveling in the opposite direction before striking the roadside, overturning, and crashing into a car with license plate 48D-XXX.XX. The chain of collisions caused significant traffic congestion in the area for several hours.

The accident claimed the lives of two people at the scene: Mr. Tran Dinh T. (born 1974, from Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province), the motorbike rider, and Mr. To Van Ch. (born 1985, from Binh Dinh province), the truck driver. The car driver, Mr. Song A. Phu (born 1987, residing in Quang Son commune), sustained only minor injuries.

Local authorities from Dak Glong district and Dak Nong province quickly arrived at the scene to manage traffic, examine the site, and launch an investigation into the cause of the crash. Officials are currently determining what led the container truck to lose control and are handling the case according to legal procedures.

The incident once again highlights the dangers of mountainous roads, underscoring the need for drivers to maintain safe speeds and exercise heightened caution in these areas.
