According to the officer responsible for the investigation , Hermes Jun Nakashima, the action occurred due to a disagreement between the victim and the partygoers . For reasons yet to be determined, the man grabbed a machete, triggering a public reaction.

“At one point, the victim ended up wielding a machete , and animosity broke out between everyone,” said the police chief in an interview with the press.
