ST. LOUIS — A police pursuit that started Saturday morning in north St. Louis County ended in a serious crash near North Broadway and East Taylor Avenue in St. Louis City, authorities report.
Two individuals involved in the crash sustained injuries, with one suffering critical condition.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., St. Louis County officers identified a vehicle connected to a reported shooting and home invasion earlier that morning on Lorna Lane. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, prompting a high-speed chase.
The pursuit ended shortly after the suspect vehicle crossed into St. Louis City, where it crashed. Both occupants were transported to a hospital for treatment.
No law enforcement officers were injured during the pursuit in either the city or county.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigative Unit and Accident Reconstruction Team are conducting an investigation into the crash, while St. Louis County Police are handling the criminal investigation related to the initial shooting and home invasion.
At this time, it is unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the crash or the events leading up to it.
