PHILADELPHIA, PA — Three people have died and ten others were injured following a mass shooting at a cookout in the Grays Ferry neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. on July 7 on the 1500 block of South 27th Street.

Police report that nine victims were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, while three others were taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The three fatalities were males aged 19, 23, and 24. Among the injured are three minors—a 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys. One 19-year-old male remains in critical condition after sustaining two gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities recovered dozens of shell casings at the scene. At least one person has been taken into custody, but investigators believe multiple shooters were involved, and the investigation is ongoing.

Surveillance footage from Ring cameras captured gunmen firing indiscriminately into a crowd gathered for the early-morning cookout, causing bystanders to scramble for cover.

Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
