A tragic accident occurred this afternoon in the Prados de San Vicente subdivision, third section, in the Villa de Pozos delegation, where two minors were run over by a public passenger service bus.

The vehicle involved is the economical bus 6090 on route 9 Morales. The accident occurred at the intersection of 24th and 71st streets, resulting in the death of a five-year-old girl and minor injuries to another six-year-old girl.

The bus driver stayed at the scene of the accident and was secured by agents of the Municipal Civil Guard. The Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) of the capital confirmed the death of the five-year-old girl. The other minor suffered only minor blows and did not require transfer to a medical center.

So far, no further official information has been provided. The emergency forces went to the scene to attend to the minors and it is expected that the corresponding investigations will be carried out to clarify the circumstances of the accident.

It is worth mentioning that the little girl who suffered only minor injuries, after the accident, was taken to a private home where the paramedics went to check her and reported that she was fine.

It took more than two hours, almost three, for the investigation agents, as well as personnel from the Expert Services Laboratory, to arrive to fulfill their obligations.

The driver, Martín N., 35 years old, was detained by municipal agents and placed at the disposal of the authorities.
