The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday (23), during a police party. The suspect of the shooting was arrested in flagrante delicto, with the weapon used, by the agents themselves who participated in the event, after the crime was committed.

A corporal of the Military Police of Maranhão (PM-MA), identified as Claudio Adão Duarte Silva, was shot dead by another PM, from the state of Tocantins, identified as Hugo Deleon da Silva Teixeira, during a disturbance at a police party, in the early hours of this Saturday (23), in the city of Imperatriz , 630 km from São Luís (see video above).

The suspect of the shooting was arrested in flagrante delicto, with the weapon used, by the same officers who participated in the event, after the crime was committed. Security cameras recorded the moment in which the two PMs disagreed.

According to Major Leonardo, commander of the 3rd BPM, the argument involved a group of other military police officers who were at the establishment, located in the Bacuri neighborhood. The suspect of the shooting pushed a man and, shortly after, was slapped in the face by another police officer.

Claudio, who was stationed at the 14th PM Battalion, got involved in the argument and pushed the suspect. The man pulled a revolver from his waistband and started shooting at the victim, who was hit by four bullets.

Claudio Adão was taken in serious condition to the Municipal Hospital of Imperatriz, but did not survive his injuries and died at the scene on Saturday morning.

Hugo Deleon was charged this morning at the Civil Police Station in Imperatriz. According to Major Leonardo, after the crime was charged, he will be held in one of the Military Police barracks in Tocantins.
