Valparaíso, Zacatecas.- The filming of a music video ended in tragedy on Sunday night in the municipality of Valparaíso, north of Zacatecas, when an accident occurred due to reckless driving between two all-terrain vehicles.
Near the auditorium, located in the municipal seat, a music video was recorded by two groups, one from the mountains and the other a band, identified as Banda Ese y Distinto Estilo. The artistic event apparently had the necessary permits.
However, alcohol consumption was carried out irregularly without proper oversight by the authorities, and some of the attendees were still socializing after the recording ended.
A pair of 4x4 truck drivers decided to link the two vehicles together with a chain and began accelerating to gauge which had the greatest force; four people climbed into the pickup bed of one of them.
Amidst shouts urging both drivers to rev their engines, the pickup truck in the back stopped accelerating, causing the pickup truck in front to pick up speed, ejecting the men in the pickup bed.
The rear pickup truck ran over the four ejected men, passing over them with its front wheels, and then, while reversing, crushed at least two of them again.
Another man, who was watching the event, was hit by the whip of the chain that snapped and was left lying in agony where he finally died.
Rescuers arrived at the scene within minutes and transported the other three seriously injured men who were hit by a car.
So far, no authorities have responded to a request for information seeking information on whether the drivers of the vehicles were detained or fled the scene.
