A man, not yet identified, died after being hit by a car on Avenida Joaquim Nabuco, in downtown Manaus , in the early hours of this Sunday (18). Security cameras recorded the moment of the accident.

In the images, it is possible to see the victim walking down the deserted street when he is hit by a speeding vehicle, which had just turned a corner. The driver did not stop and fled the scene without providing assistance.

With the impact, the man was thrown several meters to the sidewalk and died at the scene.

The case will be investigated by the Specialized Traffic Accident Unit (DEAT).
